PNC Routing Number
Using the wrong routing number could send your money to the wrong place. Find the right PNC routing number for your transactions.
PRO TIP: Are you trying to send money internationally? The quickest and cheapest way to send money internationally is to use a money transfer service, such as Wise, Remitly or Xe.
What Is a Routing Number?
A routing number is a 9-digit code that banks use to identify themselves. It's like an address that lets other banks know where to find (or send) your money.
You will need a routing number to conduct numerous bank transactions, including:
- Direct deposits
- In-person deposits
- Automatic payments
- Wire transfers
- Accepting automatic payments (e.g., tax refunds)
Banks trace the origins of incoming transfers through the routing number, which allows checks to be cashed and cleared almost instantly. They also use these numbers for outgoing transfers to make sure the money gets to the right place.
PNC Routing Numbers by State
Your PNC Bank routing number is associated with the location of the bank where you opened your account. Even if you do your banking at another branch, the bank where you opened your account is what matters.
Here's a list of PNC routing numbers for each state:
| State | PNC Routing Number |
|---|---|
| Alabama | 043000096 |
| Delaware | 031100089 |
| Florida | 267084199 |
| Illinois | 071921891 |
| Indiana | 083009060 083000108 071921891 043000096 |

| South Carolina | 53100850 |
| Virginia | 054000030 |

The first four digits pertain to the Federal Reserve. The next four are unique to your bank. Consider those the bank's address for the Federal Reserve. The final digit is a mathematical calculation of the first eight digits that's used to prevent check fraud.

Other Ways to Find Your PNC Bank Routing Number
![]() |
Here are several other ways to find your PNC Bank routing number:
Use a Check
You'll find the routing number in the lower left-hand corner of the checks corresponding to your checking account. It's the first 9 digits located at the bottom of the check.
Go Online
PNC's Virtual Wallet account is a checking, savings, and investment account all in one. You can easily find your routing number for the Spend, Save, Reserve, or Growth accounts.
- Clicking on Account Activity then Show Account or Routing Number.
- Choose the account you want.
- Enter your password. Your routing number will appear on the screen.
Your PNC account number has 10 digits. If your account number has less than 10 digits, you'll need to add a "0" or "00" in front of the account when using it.
Call Customer Service
Call PNC Bank at (888) 762-2265. After you provide a few specific details to identify yourself, a representative will be able to confirm your account's routing number.
Routing Numbers for Domestic/International Wire Transfer
Wire transfers are a faster way to send money than an ACH transfer. Your PNC wire transfer routing number may differ from your ACH routing number.
To receive a domestic wire transfer
Find your wire transfer routing number by visiting PNC's wire transfer instruction tool and entering the first two numbers of your bank account number.
You'll also need:
- Recipient's name as it appears on the account
- Location of the recipient's bank (including city and state)
- Account number
- Bank routing number
To receive an international wire transfer
You'll need PNC Bank's SWIFT code PNCCUS33.
SWIFT codes are codes of 8 to 11 letters or numbers. They tell the transferring bank where and how to send money for international transfers.
To send an international wire transfer
You'll need this information about the recipient:
- Recipient's name as it appears on the account
- Recipient bank name, address, and country
- Recipient account number (you may need a country-specific account structure, e.g., a CLABE for Mexico or an IBAN for international bank accounts)
- Recipient bank's SWIFT code
- Currency of recipient's account (foreign currency or U.S. dollars)
- Purpose of wire
Cheaper and Faster Way to Send Money Internationally
The quickest and cheapest way to send money internationally is to use a money transfer service (instead of PNC).
Which PNC Routing Number Should You Use?
For Any Domestic Money Transfer Activity
Use the routing number associated with the bank where you opened your account.
For a Domestic Wire Transfer
Use the PNC wire instruction tool to look up the right wire transfer routing number.
For an International Wire Transfer
Use the PNC SWIFT Code PNCCUS33.
Although your debit card is associated with a bank account, you do not use a routing number for debit card transactions. Routing numbers are only used for transfers directly between bank accounts.
Likewise, credit cards do not have routing numbers since they are not directly linked to any bank account. When you pay your credit card online, you may need to use your bank account routing number to set up the link between your credit card account and checking account, like you would for any other bill.
Bottom Line
PNC makes it easy to find your routing and account numbers so that you can direct funds to the appropriate place.
Make sure to double-check your routing number by viewing a check or online statement, especially if you live in a state that has multiple PNC routing numbers.
